Now is the time. After we spend 13 weeks to complete the our FYP project, Wind
Speed Meter, today is the day where we will present our Wind Speed Meter to
everyone in Unikl BMI and we will also be assessed by our assessor, Sir azlan and madam norlida. We already prepared everything that we have learn for previous 13 weeks
and InsyaAllah we hope that everything will run smoothly. During the assessing
process, we have learn many valuable knowledge from our assessor regarding to
our Wind Speed Meter. Every knowledge that we have learn is very useful for us
to do future development to our project. I would like to express my biggest and
sincerest gratitude especially to our supervisor, madam norhaslinawati binti ramli for
being a person that always encourage us to always give the best in everything
that we have done and my co-supervisor miss norrolhuda binti sanif for helping our project and give a support . I also want to say thank you to my our friends that always give
support to us during this process and to everyone in Unikl BMI, Thanks a lot.

week 12
The prototype
In this week, i and my partner do the prototype for the industrial day in week 14. finally we have completely finish and done with our project wind speed meter.and we show our prototype to our supervisor madam Norhaslinawati Binti Ramli, and declare our project are complete.
And just in case our project is not working in during industrial day we have reco rd video for our safety.
week 11
testing and trouble shoot the circuit
assalamualaikum, after we construct circuit last week, in this week test the circuit in PCB board. we test the circuit on the road because we want accurate the wind speed. I and my partner test in highway NKVE to get the speed we need. mustaqim is a driver and I check the wind speed in LCD same with car meter.
And we also we testing in BMI area
week 10
construct in PCB
So after we have done with our software arduino and test in bread board last week, now we are going to do the next process of putting our circuit on Printed Circuit Board(PCB). In this process, we required to follow every step on doing the PCB.
step 1 we used software pcb express to construct pcb circuit
next step is we print use the Overhead Projection Paper (OHP) and PCB layout on this paper using laser jet printer
next is we etching the PCB board
,After etching, what we're going to do is we are going to drilling our PCB in order to place the component on the board before we can go to the soldering process. We are using a cordless drill with drill point size 1.0 mm. For safety precaution we put a Styrofoam as a pad for our PCB. We have to do it with gentle and precise because the size of the components pin is to small. By using my own cordless drill I'll start drilling all the pin for every components.

PCB UV Exposure, In this process, we are going to exposed our PCB
to the Ultraviolet using a UV Box. For this particular process, what we have to
do is we stick our PCB layout that we already printed on OHP paper to this PCB
board. Then we put this PCB board in the machine and set the time to 60
seconds. Then wait till the process finished

last step is after we drill, Now we can start solder all
the component. First put the component on the PCB and make sure that the
components are in the correct position. Then switch on the soldering iron and
wait for 5 minutes in order to make sure that the soldering iron is heat
enough. Then put the PCB on the PCB holder so that we can easily doing the
solder without having a difficulty during the process. Now we can start solder.
During this work, make sure that we not put the soldering iron too long on the
PCB because if too long we might give the burn to our PCB and it will damage
our PCB. If we want to desolder, we have to use desolder pump to suck the lead.
Then use the solder wick to clean the tip of soldering iron.
week 9
construct the project
First of all, i would like to show our block diagram for this wind speed meter

week 7
coding (part 1)
assalamualaikum, Sorry for being late on giving an
update for my Final Year Project. After me and my partner have a discussion
with our supervisor madam norhaslinawati she asked that we need to divide our task into
two part which is hardware and software. So after a discussion, i decided to
take responsibility on finishing the hardware part for this project and mustaqim
will take care about the software part. the software part is coding in arduino, firstly we do the flow chart to know how the program function.

week 5
hello
viewers this week we updated for our FYP. this week we study about
-Arduino UNO
Arduino UNO. The Arduino Uno is a microcontroller board based like PIC It has 14 digital input/output pins (of which 6 can be used as outputs), 6 analog inputs, a USB connection, a power jack, and a reset button.

It
contains everything needed to support the microcontroller; simply connect it to

LCD
Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) is a thin
and flat device, physically where it serves as a display device. LCD built in
two ways, namely by using several colors combined or just one color black,
white or gray. For each selection of colors is arranged in front of the light
source for the display. Due to the LCD using a small electric power so it can
be used in electrical equipment that uses batteries only as a source of supply
powers.
LCD used in this project displays wind
speed and the speed of the vehicle ahead should be brought in crosswinds.
we study about the arduino and the lcd because the two thing that are very important for this project.

week 3
Assalamualaikum to all viewers. This is the updated
for our FYP. We are being supervised by our lecturer madam Norhaslinawati Binti
Ramli lecturer of electronics section. Before we proceed to other stage
of making our project we would like to briefly explain about our project and we
hope it can make people understand how this project function as a title given.
Firstly we would like to talk about what is wind speed meter and how many types
of wind speed meter and then we will explain about the circuit functionality. A
wind speed meter or other named anemometer is a device that is used to
measuring a speed of wind. the word anemometer came from greek
word anemos mean wind. This device is commonly used in meteorology or
aerodynamics measurement instrument. The first known description of an
anemometer was given by Leon Battista Alberti around 1450. There is
two classes of anemometer. Those that measure wind speed and those that measure
wind pressure but nowadays an anemometer have both information. There is a lot
of anemometers :-
cup anemometers
windmill anemometers
hot wire anemometers
laser doppler anemometers
sonic anemometers
For
this project we are using the cup anemometers method in our
project. Now we would like to explain how this cup anemometer functioned.
An cup anemometer uses motor to measure wind speed. It
sends a voltage and convert in speed wind the speed of motor . Wind speed
will increase or decrease the speed of motor depending on wind .

WEEK 1 WELCOME
WEEK 1 WELCOME
Assalamualaikum First
of all let me introduce myself. My name is Muhammad Ashraf B. Hanif. I'm
creating this blog because as you'll can see the title of this blog is
about my final year project for my diploma that i take at UNIKL BMI. So i and
my teammate Ahmad Mustaqim B. Muhd Shukree will give an update for our
FYP progression at least once a week for all 13 week given. So this entry
covered the process for within this two weeks because we've started our class
on 8/9/2014 . Our title that we've choose for our FYP is wind speed meter. Why
we decide to choose this project?. For me this project is the medium that i can
use to applied all my knowledge that i have learned during my study. It's also
a little bit challenging because this project need us to program a Arduino UNO
and we never study about this thing before but it doesn't mean that this
project can't be proceed anyway. So for week 1 what we've done is we try to
understand what is this project all about and how we can start to develop this
project. Our reference is based on magazine EPE 03-01 start from page 40-47.
According to the magazine what we can generally understand about this project
is about creating a device that can measured the speed of wind using the
ultrasonic circuit but we not used Ultrasonic because is expensive
we using Anemometer cup. In this project waqs helped by our supervisor is
madam Norhaslinawati Binti Ramli.
